I just might love crossfit.....maybe.....

A month ago Kori was a DIRECT answer to a prayer. She texted me one day and asked me if I wanted to do a 12 week individual workout plan with her. Little did she know I had been praying for a way to get more healthy and I knew I couldn't do it on my own.  I needed help and I was praying for it. Heavenly Father truly does use us to answer each other's prayers! So, I started doing CrossFit with Kori.  After the first day I decided I needed a theme song. Queen's "Another one bites the dust" (meaning pounds) fit the bill perfectly.  FYI....it is my favorite song to walk to. Such a great easy pace to keep with the beat.  I even made it my ring tone for now. :)  Kori has been amazing. So patient with me and just the right blend of encouragement and toughness. I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate that she is doing this for me.  I am so grateful for her. I feel stronger!!! I notice a change in my body. Even thought the pounds aren't melting off like I'd kinda hoped, I can definitely tell a difference. Last week was hard for me. I had a week where I didn't really want to do much, and didn't. I could tell a difference in my mood, attitude and body by the end of the week. I missed it!! I missed how I felt after a work out.  This is my new motto:

After last week I'd much rather feel sore!!! In fact, I might even love CrossFit. Seriously, I never thought I'd say that. I have never wanted to be a runner, or run long distances or anything like that. I still don't. It's not my favorite thing, but I enjoy CrossFit. I enjoy the variety and the absolute drenching sweat I get after! So, maybe I love CrossFit, just maybe.

Atti earned his wings

As I sit to write this my heart is broken. Ever since Sammy told me her good friends little boy was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor this past January, I have been following this family's journey on their blog. Even though I do not know this family personally I feel like I do. I have felt connected to them, and my heart was so touched by this brave, faithful and amazing family. I have been wearing a bracelet for little Atti and haven't taken it off since I got it.
Today, little Atti lost his battle and returned to our Heavenly Father. I know he is no longer feeling pain and is no doubt on a special mission only he could do. I know it probably doesn't make it any easier to loose a child, but I can not imagine going through something like that without the gospel. Without knowing that they were sealed to you and yours forever. Without knowing that our Heavenly Father has a plan for each and everyone of us, and that we agreed to the challenges we would face. I believe that! I believe we knew what we would face on this earth, and special spirits like little Atti were the first ones to volunteer for these difficult life challenges. I know Cindy and Eric were chosen to help him get through it and to give him all the love and care he would need. Our Heavenly Father loves us, and I know the Hansen's are so grateful for the the miracles they have seen play out over the past 5 months. I know that they thank Heavenly Father for answering their prayers, and the prayers of all those who have been praying for them, that they would be allowed to have good happy times together as a family and that when it was time for him to go home, it would happen quickly and peacefully. I am grateful the Hansen family shared their journey and their Atticus with me. They are an inspiration and example to us all, and truly made me hug my kids a little tighter. Love and Prayers to you Hansen Family.

I heart Missouri

I was thinking the other day about how much I love it here in Missouri.  So much more than I ever imagined I would.   Everyone told me when we found out we were coming here how much we would hate it and and regret volunteering to commit 4 years here. How wrong they were!!!! I love the beauty that surrounds us here. The comfortable happy life we've created here. I love our ward, more than I can even begin to explain. There is something special about it.....maybe it's because I have personally grown so much here, maybe it's the closeness of a military community, maybe it's the amazing....and I mean AMAZING friends I have made here, I don't know.  But I love it.  I loved Phoenix, and I love the people there (made some really amazing life-long friends), but I was kind of ready for a new adventure.  I do not feel that way this time. I am going to be SOOOO sad to leave.  I think I'd stay here forever. But, we are Air Force and the likelihood of us ever being stationed here again is pretty small. So, I hope to make the best of the rest our time here. Only Heavenly Father knows what life has in store for us in the future, and where our military journey will take us next, but I DO know that my heart will be broken when we have to say goodbye to Missouri.

Take me out the ball game...err....practice....

If you know me, at all, you know I LOVE sports. Tonight my dream came true and Parker started T-ball.  I  remember when we found out we were having a boy my first thought was....Little League!!  I hope he wants to play them all.....football, baseball, basketball.....I'm excited to see which one he likes best. Maybe he will like karate or golf......I don't really care.....I just love sports!!  Tonight, this was the cutest thing I've ever seen. They were all so excited and anxious and horrible! It was awesome!!!  :)  Parker can throw......he can't hit. We will have to work on that. Here are a few pictures......I'm sure there will be much more on this topic to come.
