Trunk or Treat

Hello. I haven't blogged in forever!! I kind of went on a break when Sam got home. Now he is back to work and things are getting back to normal. :)

Last night was the ward Trunk or Treat. We took our next door neighbors and had a really great time. Here are a few pics I took before we left......I forgot to grab the camera when we walked out the door, so I don't have any from the actual trunk or treat. Sad, I know.

6 quirky things about me

I don't tend to think of myself as having too many "quirks", but I bet I can think of a few.
1. All the bills in my wallet all have be face up and facing the same direction.
2. I ALWAYS clean my ears with q-tips. More than once a day. After I get out of the shower, if they itch......I seem to do this more than the normal person. Probably not healthy. :)
3. The volume level on my radio or tv has to be on an even number....I will not leave it on an odd....I have to even it out....drives me CRAZY!!!

Home, Safe and Sound

A very tired Sam finally made it home after delays in Atlanta due to weather. We are so happy to have him home!!! More to come...........

Tooth Fairy, we have a problem

I've been telling Aileen all morning her tooth was hanging by a thread and she should just pull it out. "No" she tells me. "It will come out when it's ready!!" So, at lunch she takes her first bite of her tuna and crackers....I hear crying....see tears....a frantic look on her pretty little face...."Aileen what's wrong?", I say. Through the sobs and hysteria she mutters, "I don't know where my tooth is!! I think I swallowed it!!! Oh no, Momma, how is the tooth fairy gonna know I lost it?" After a few minutes of trying to get her to believe that the little bit of bleeding was normal, I explained that the tooth fairy understood these things happen and she could write her a note to let her know." A tragedy was averted. (Phew)

( Later, she could be heard singing, "This is the best day of my life. I lost my first tooth AND my daddy's coming home) Adorable.

Sam's flight comes in at 9:00 tonight!!! He is in the air as we speak on his way to Phoenix. :)

I Love Conference

Conference was so wonderful. I know it always is, but there were many things that specifically touched my heart. I thought it was so amazing the way President Monson asked us all to pray together to open up those areas of the world that won't let us in. I always love to hear Elder Wirthlin's talks, and I have especially grown fond of President Eyring. His talks are always powerful. It's so amazing to get to hear from our Priesthood leaders. I can't wait to get the Ensign next month and study the talks again....I know they have much more to "feed" me. With everything happening in the world today...even here in the U.S....it's wonderful to have a weekend filled with words of love and hope from our Heavenly Father.

Sam's coming home!!

The latest word from Sam is that he will be leaving the middle east on Tuesday, Oct. 7th......this is actually Monday night for us. After several stops along the way, he will eventually fly into Baltimore and FINALLY make his way to the valley !!! So, we should have him home sometime on Wednesday, I think. He says he will have more details for me tomorrow so I'll keep you posted!!!!!

Marissa? Is that you?

So, I watched Marissa for Tiffany today.....imagine my surprise when I picked up the always perfectly put together Marissa.......needless to say, I think Marty was in charge this morning. :)

Parker and Marissa had a GREAT time playing together. They are pretty dang cute. :) (Yes, I changed her clothes and fixed her hair. :) )
